Wrapping up.

If I remember it right, less than twenty four hours after I asked my friends what was the title of the song below this post was, I have managed to message half of my phonebook a few stanzas of the said song.

The song goes by the title "Mga Tambay Lang Kami" sung by this new local rap group Dagtang Lason. Dagtang Lason is your typical Pinoy group who have nothing better to do with idle time so they just rapped their sentiments hence their song is called that. However I knew this facts, blame it on GMA 7's show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

One boring Saturday night, as I channel surfed mindlessly, I came across GMA 7 and surprisingly, they were playing a song that sounds familiar. Yes, the infamous latest LSS-inducing song was their feature. So I stopped pounding on the remote control and started tuning in to the television.

As expected, the song was written based on personal experiences, it was accepted warmly by most listeners, particularly the younger generation. And with double meaning songs, and a culture that's so conservative as you can get, it also bagged negative reactions, which is why it was a feature in the show.

In my opinion, I don't think it's doing any harm to anyone. Although it might be taken as an insult when you first hear the song, I think this song is brilliant. From what I've observed, more and more straight guys are now going for the gay population. Don't ask me why, but I guess the song is voicing a good reason: Masarap magmahal ang bakla.

Not that I'm okay with guys going for the same sex for their partners, but sublimically, I guess I'm okay with the guys who can't respect and afford, or at least try, to spend on a girl to go for a gay person, who, in our country, is by far well-off than most straight person I know. Or maybe gay men just love spending money on their men, just like real men do with the ladies.

Oh well. This entry is getting long. Again, I never thought I would be writing about this for my second attempt in getting back on the writing field. But before I wrap up the topic, view the video below and kill your curiousity what has been lurking my mind in the past week or so. Enjoy! :D

On a hunt.

Oh-kay.

This is not how I envisioned my first post on this new blog would be. But somehow, I can't move on with this and I just have to let it spill. I promise a much more sensible entry next time.

Last Thursday, on the way to work, still sleepy and unaware of the other commuters, I heard this song. It's yet another Tagalog rap song but it's really catchy and the melody got stuck in my head ever since.

So basically the song goes "Mga tambay lang kami, sawa sa babae... May mga babaeng manloloko, pineperahan lang kami... Kaya ngayon bakla na lang ang aming iibigin... Masarap magmahal ang bakla, o kay sarap... damhin..."

I don't know if you've heard of it but I was told by my officemates that it has been airing on the radio for quite sometime now, and one of them has sons who are singing that song. And apparently, my gay friends have been singing the song as well for awhile now. *Now I feel a little geeky for not knowing what's "in" on the music industry.*

Anyway, since I was practically singing the song during my Thursday meetings, I asked help from kind people. With a few pounds on my cellphone keypad, I managed to land myself a handful of replies, and yet another reason to feel so low about not knowing a song that most human beings have heard of. And so, I remember people telling me it's called "Mga Tambay". Some say it has a different title, and another even suggested another song for me to listen to, apparently with the same theme as this song.

For a song that has no official name for me yet, I searched it on Youtube, and yes, I even did the old Google habit. Surprisingly, there were a lot more titles for the song than I have guessed, and aside from that, people just can't make up their minds on who sang the song, and now it's starting to drive me crazy. Because it's still playing in my head.

So now, tell me. What is the title of this song and how do I end my LSS?
